If you have a tax related question we will try to help. If related to the conduct of your business you might want to consult a bookkeeping professional.

@jh6u Did the IRS adjust the penalty on 1040 line 38? You don’t need to adjust your filed return for that or record the refund. It doesn’t need to transfer that to next year.

Same problem here. How to adjust this so that Turbotax will have recorded the refund? I don't see an option to adjust the penalty.

While TurboTax doesn’t offer that service you might look at Quickbooks or consult a bookkeeping service.

Additionally, Gemini also reflects the $1 sales price noted in my response.
Ai has a long was to go to understand tax law, law in general and generates fake cases that have been submitted to Judges.
Choose wisely.

@ job6 wrote: I did my taxes early to receive them early and i have yet to get an update ever since i did them. I tried checking with the IRS refund and follow the steps only for them to tell me that they have no clue and cannot provide any further information. I'm not sure if I'll ever get my money back. I know it's hard not to, but try not to worry. If you are due a Federal refund, you should eventually get it at some point, so don't use negative energy worrying that you won't get it. But you DO need to figure out what is going on and why it's taking so long. Most importantly, you should first make sure your return was successfully filed. How did you file? Did you efile, or did you choose to print, sign, date, and mail a paper return? If you chose to mail a paper return, did you physically mail it yourself? TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home. If you prepared it online, what is shown there? Does it show the status of the return as accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else? If you used desktop software, you can check from within the software. If that showed that your efiled return was accepted, (or if you printed and mailed a paper return), you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund. https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund Here are some tips when using the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool: Be sure you enter the correct tax year, SSN and filing status. Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount. Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a summary screen. Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a. @ Cali8787 wrote: I see it says"Once your e-filed return is in pending or accepted status, it's too late to remove Pay With My Refund. But if your return is rejected, you have another opportunity to remove Pay with My Refund." How do I do the last sentence? My refund was rejected and I want to remove Pay with refund since I didnt get it. Instead turbo tax look payment from an account I wasn't using and didnt have funds in and now I over drafted. I want to refund at least the pay with refund cost, and would rather use a different payment method even though they already charged me. The "pay out of refund" option can be removed after one efiles a return IF in the next 24-48 hours or so after efiling, the efile is rejected and doesn't even begin processing. In such an efile rejection, the return is considered to have never been filed with the IRS. So that is why a change in payment method can be made when the initial efiling is rejected for processing. After an efile rejection, TurboTax does not automatically debit one's account. So it makes me think the following is what may have happened to you: On the other hand, a denial or reduction in your Federal refund by the IRS after processing is not the same as the early-on efile rejection. It's not clear how you are using the phrases "my refund was rejected" and "since I didn't get it." Does that mean the IRS processed your return and decided you were not due a tax refund or lowered it? It's not clear what happened to you. When you initially efiled, within 24-48 hours or so did the IRS accept your return to start processing it, but after several weeks or IRS processing did TurboTax go ahead and debit your account because of either a delay at the IRS or because of a denial by the IRS of your refund? In either of those situations TurboTax would go ahead and debit your account to get its fees. Is that what happened? In any case, since we may or may not be understanding your situation here, and since nothing account-specific can be handled in this public forum anyway, you can phone TurboTax Support on Tuesday to discuss any billing issues. (This is a holiday weekend.) FAQ: What is the TurboTax phone number? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number/00/25632 If a prompt asks, say "billing issue."

Do you need to change your password because you cannot log into your account? If that's your situation, see the info I left you below on how to recover access and reset password. If you can you log in OK but electively want to change the password in your account profile settings, we can tell you how to do that in your Intuit Account settings. So for now I'll tell you what to do if you can't log in. It's also possible that you have more than one online account without realizing it, which could cause a password failure. To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below. When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it. After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access, here's another method: Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

@jennifer-frericks no it doesn't. Some of you gain would be taxed at zero and some would be taxed at 15% whether or not you had the $50,000 lump sum payment from SSI. So the $50,000 will not "force" you into the 15% tax bracket; you are already there with a $150,000 gain (after the $250,000 exclusion), even if there was no $50,000 lump sum. The issue is just how much of the gain gets "pushed" into the 15% tax bracket from the 0% tax bracket. Also, were you married when you purchased the condo? whether you divorced or your spouse passed can impact the cost basis and therefore, the capital gains. if either occurred, can you explain more?

@rk38 the tax impact is the same. However, you must first determine if the Plan even permits these conversions out of a Trad 401k. If you are under 59.5 years old, they may not.
