It's been over 2 months since I filled my return. How long typically does it take to receive my refund. I e-filed. I received my federal 5 days after I filed.

Needing to know why my state tax return was only $22 instead of the $661 that was figured on my tax return.
Did you actually get a 1099 from the unclaimed property office?  What did the unclaimed funds come from?

Because you made an LLC, your options are limited.  In a community property state, you file as 2 schedule C businesses, one in the name of each spouse, with each business reporting half the income and half the expenses.     Your wife does not report you as a subcontractor or employee.  You are each considered owners of a schedule C business and each schedule C reports half the income and half the expenses.  Each schedule C business can use either an EIN or the owner's SSN.   If you have contractors issuing 1099s to the business, they can issue the 1099 to either spouse's "business."  But in the end, you still divide income and expenses 50/50, even if the 1099s are not divided that way.

Is the amount sent/issued by the IRS the same as the refund amount shown on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 35a? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If not, then go to this IRS website for information on reduced refunds - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203 Are you also receiving a state tax refund? If so, the state refund is sent directly to you from the state not from the IRS. Use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund Have you factored in the TurboTax account fees and any applicable sales tax? Review your TurboTax account fees - Sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/ Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on View Order Details   If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return. For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/ Tax Products Group Contact Information - https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information Call 1-877-908-7228 Or email - TPG-CSsupport@greendotcorp.com

According to my turbo tax return I should of received a refund of $600+, but all I got was $22
Since it is a thousand dollars I would deduct it as either a repair or a management cost.  Either is fine.   @RD94043

Sorry-   TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  A 2010 return is long gone.

My rental unit had a SA of under $1000 in 2024 to pay for the engineering and architectural work in preparation to install a new HVAC. This does not include the HVAC itself as each owner will be free to install or not in the future. Thees plans however ensure that all the units are installed in a consistent manner with minimal re-approval by the HOA when an owner decides to install.   So, should this engineering design cost, which was not optional, be deducted as a repair (1 yr), depreciated improvement (27 yr) or simply a management cost added to the monthly HOA dues for the year?   TIA
