Hi to answer your questions the reason for the hold I was told was because I filed a Electronic return and a paper return the year of 2022/2023. Also I've spoke with the irs on multiple times and they all say the same thing that's it's processing I'll have to wait. I check where's my refund daily it only says refund received. I also check my tax records not has changed.

The following TurboTax help article will give you more information about your options. It also includes a link to a separate article explaining how to report the recharacterization in TurboTax.
What if I made an excess Roth IRA contribution because my income is too high?

It should not be included on your W2 as a separate line item. The amount should be included as part of the compensation that you received in box 1 if your W2.
So your salary for the year may have been 50K and the discount may have been worth 10K then your W2 for the year in question would show 60K.
It is treated just like you received extra paychecks and you must pay social security and medicare tax on it as well.

The Saver's Credit is non-refundable and must be applied to your income tax liability. If you owe self-employment tax or something other than income tax, then the Saver's Credit cannot reduce those tax liabilities.
If you are getting the message that you qualify for the credit but have no tax liability left, then the message is referring to your income tax liability only.

It depends. In order to stop the withdraw you will need to contact the IRS or state taxing agency to see if they can stop it. Depending on where in the process they are, it may or may not be too late. Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling. Cancellation requests must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. ET two business days prior to the scheduled payment date.

For example, if you lived in one state for half the year, then half of the dividends would be apportioned to that state.

I put the amount I would pay the state. Thinking I could pay it with my Fed refund. I believe I am losing 674.00 on my fed return.

Good morning, I am under the age of 55 and unfortunately over contributed to my ROTH IRA by 2k. I understand that there is one method of an Excess Contribution form that I can fill out, but is there a way that I can contribute that 2k to the current year? If excess contribution is the only method, how do I showcase this on my tax forms? I had filed a extension to make sure this subject matter was fixed since I do not have prior experience for this. Also, to my knowledge if I correct it in a timely manner of the tax season of 2024, would I still have the 6% tax penalty if I do utilize the excess contribution method with Fidelity?

You should probably try to get the Form 1099-R corrected to show an ordinary distribution (code 1 in box 3, $0 in box 2)). That would eliminate the need to provide any explanation to the IRS. If they are willing to correct the form, they should also be willing to accept the rollover back to the original account. If they refuse to correct the form (which will probably be the case), you'll likely need to provide explanation to the IRS as to why you reported a rollover of what the HSA custodian claimed on the Form 1099-SA to be an return of excess contribution.

@mjpalluck , based on the numbers that you provided, I assume that the Form 1099-R shows $66,700 in box 1. In TurboTax you must enter the Form 1099-R as received, indicate that you moved the money to another retirement account (or back to the same account), that you rolled over part of the money and that you rolled over $54,000. The result will be that $66,700 is included on Form 1040 line 4a, $12,700 is included on box 2a and the ROLLOVER notation will be present. The $6,700 shown in box 4 of the Form 1099-R will be credited on Form 1040 line 25b to be applied against the tax liability determined on your tax return. (If they instead withheld exactly 10% for federal taxes, I would expect the amount included on line 4a would be $66,667 and the amount on line 4b would be $12,667.)

Since you filed an extension, just use the corrected W-2 when you actually file your return after getting the K-1 that you are expecting.
You will most likely get a refund from CT if less income is attributed to CT based on the corrected W-2.
There should be no penalties involved in completing your return with the W-2C after filing an extension.

" the $309.28 earnings into the return?" This amount is ignored and does not go on your tax return. The amount you converted goes on your tax return. The $2,000 appears on Form 8606 if you elect or are forced non-deductible. Otherwise, Schedule 1 Line 20. @TomDx "won't the IRS be looking for 2 1099's?" The IRS already has 2 1099-Rs from your custodian.

There does not seem to be a problem identified on the KY Department of Revenue website. If the payment has not been taken from your account after 7-10 days, you may want to contact them directly to ask about it.
