Change Box 18 to 11 and see if that will clear this up.

If you have a 1099-R for a 401k withdrawal (distribution), and you rolled it over into another qualified plan (like an IRA), then you indicate in Turbotax that it was a rollover. Enter the 1099-R and keep going (click "next" or whatever) -- don't skip out -- and there will eventually be a question about "What did you do with the money" and one of the choices will be a rollover. Turbotax doesn't need to know that the rollover was after 60 days as long as you self-certified to the plan that you met one of the exceptions and the plan accepted it.

Thank you! The app was confusing me, because it stated the efile was unavailable, but the next screen suggested efile.

Thanks for taking time to respond. I had ended up doing what you had suggested in order to get my taxes done on time. Finding the the error in TT's arithmetic was a disappointing surprise for me, and left me wondering, as a long time user, how much I either overpaid or underpaid in taxes in the past.

Mail all forms and schedules, do not mail worksheets. Include a copy of all tax documents that show any federal withholding. Use the same information for your state return if applicable.
Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS or state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

If you are keeping an inventory, then you can report the cost of the items in the year that you decided to move them from personal to business merchandise. But, if you are not maintaining an inventory or you think you will change your mind about any of the items and decide to keep them for personal use, then it would be best to only report the cost in the year that the item is sold. @oboero2

I was able to get the 1040-X form open and working on the 2023 desktop but can I file it electronically ?, and how? Can I somehow use the online site to complete and electronically file the 1040-X for 2023 ? Please explain the steps if this is possible.

Yes, I ended up doing the 110% equal payments based on last year’s income. Varying it over the quarter was a bit too confusing.

It depends. You can take the first rental asset out of service, then enter a new asset for the full amount of the cost and indicate it was rented 100% of 2024 at fair rental value (FRV), assuming this is the case.
In the original asset indicate it was 'Sold, traded, etc..... then select either 'Special Handling' or it was converted to personal use when it comes up. This just stops the activity for this asset. Be sure to put the date removed from service.
Add the new asset that has become fully rental.
Keep the records for the depreciation you have already used on the property. It will be needed when and if you sell the property in the future. All depreciation will be recaptured at that time.

Towards the upper middle of your form 1040 there is a spot for dependents. If they are added, their name will be there and a check mark in the box for child credit or dependent credit.

Same here. None of these methods would resolve my issue. Turbo tax needs to recognize/validate against the PC ID. But so far, it's a broken process. Even when an issue arises, there is lack of product/tech support (no phone number or online chat option) listed on the website. Users have to dig into the community forum to locate the support info.
