Thank you for the reply. The goal was get a definitive source for the txf standard that TurboTax used, not to pay for another tool. This isn't a difficult problem, but clearly identifies the need for more transparency by Intuit to how to support the capabilities designed into their application.

Cross River is fintech company dealing in high interest online products as its only direct customer products. FDIC cited them twice for bad business practices and CEO of Intuit, who is also in favor of no government oversight, got in bed with them anyway. This is how banking will be if we do not stand up to this company They sent checks that couldn't be cashed last year. They are basically stealing refunds. Intuit snuck them into the program and we agreed thinking SBTPG was still handling our returns. What they are doing is wrong and unscrupulous and they do not care as they did the exact same thing last year. The IRS will not help you. Take the time to make complaints viral please. The fraud is rampant here. Consumer Financial Priotection Burreau needs to get these complaints. Email to media and financial publications And lets all commit to NEVER using Turbo Tax or other Intuit products.

to claim HOH, a taxpayer must pay more than 1/2 the cost of maintaining the household.

@ gklim11 wrote: I already filed my taxes but the status says started for federal and state. Please help! I am using the free version because my tax is very simple and which number can I call for customer service? Unfortunately, the Free Edition does not have phone support. Free Edition users can use social media access to TurboTax Support that we can tell you about later, if needed. However, it's possible this can be resolved in this user community forum. You didn't by any chance start preparing a return in more than one account, did you? That occasionally happens to some people who have more than 1 account; i.e., they end up with an unfinished return in one account but filed in another. While that can happen, the scenario below is likely more common: If you are sure you are in the same account in which you prepared the return, and if the status at your 2025 Tax Home page says "started", it sounds like you didn't actually complete the efile process in that account. If you had efiled, the status of the 2 returns should show as pending, accepted, or rejected. Did you go all the way to the final screen in the FILE section and clicked on a big orange button "Transmit Returns Now?" If you actually did that, then after that you should have gotten 2 emails--the first that the returns were transmitted followed by another one up to 24-48 hours later, (or sometimes much sooner) saying if they were accepted or rejected. Until then it should say "pending." Did you get any emails? If your status at the Tax Home says "started", that makes me think you did not complete the filing process. If that's what happened to you, here's what to try. When you open your return interview again, you should first go through the REVIEW tab in the left menu column, which is an error check to be sure all is still in order. If you didn't print out your returns and go over them carefully prior to filing, this would be a good time to do so. Then you can go through the FILE tab and attempt the efile again. Be sure to go all the way to the end and click the big orange button to "Transmit Returns Now." At the Tax Home page are you able to get back to your return interview? If you can't return to the interview, i.e. if your return has been closed, then to open the interview back up look for a link "Add a State." That doesn't really add one, but opens a closed interview back up.

Cross River Bank was introduced to TT customers last year within the small print of the forms. Customers processed taxes assuming that their refunds would go directly to SBTPG, as it had for many years, for fee deduction and ultimately deposited into customer accounts. Cross River is a fintech company, not a traditional bank. Also, prior to TT turning over millions of refunds without making it clear to customers, Cross River had been investigatedand and cited twice by the FDIC for its business practices. According to threads on the matter, they held funds so long, they even mailed out checks to customers. Which, in most cases, could not be cashed. There is no way to contact Cross River nor a way to look up your funds online TT reps are not even afforded a contact number within the Cross River organization. Even though TT has taken to saying that if you do not get the 5day faster option, Cross River does not receive your refund, this is not the case. It appears that SBTPG is secondary to this Bank noe. The IRS sends your money there because that is the routing and account number that is automatically put on the e file form by TT. Even after the poor showing last year, its unclear why this type of institution has been forced upon the TT community. They have received many Federal refunds and are currently holding them and you have no way of getting the information. The 5 day early for $35 is just another ruse as they have had the money long before they release it. I and the 15 others that I know have been asking why they did not release our Federal funds after they had already deducted fees from our state refunds, but TT can not tell you amything at all as they do not know and Cross River won't bother to talk to you. If you bypass the TT prompt when calling Cross River you only get a voice mail. They've had my Federal since last week, took fees put of my state but still won't release the Federal funds, holding my funds for no valid reason - and no way to find out. Just holding it. I've spoken with 12 TT reps and each more frustrated than the next because there's nothing they can do. Since TT has shifted its business model, its probably time to look at other options. Their fees are higher and now they are doing business with this type of institution even after it was cited by FDIC, did not take care of customers in 2025 and are repeating the practice of holding funds with no ability to obtain status information or justification why they are holding funds. I know whoever I choose in the future, deduction of fees from my refund is over. Trust has been broken.

That's not completely clear what all your issue is and what password you are talking about. Is it your email password that you use to check your email account that is the problem? If so, does your email provider have a method to reset your email account password and regain access? Most email providers have a "forgot password" recovery method. And are you referring to the 6-digit verification code some filers get when trying to efile that asks them to verify their email address? If so, and if you wish to do so, you can change the email address for notification purposes in your account settings, and may be able to verify it there. Or if you don't want to change the notification email address in your settings, you may be able to verify your current notification email in the account settings if your current email address has an "unverified" link beside it. By clicking that little link you can verify it. In any case, see the following: Log into Online TurboTax in the usual fashion. Then in the left column menu scroll down and select Intuit Account. In the account settings, choose the tab "Sign In and Security." You can update your email address there that you use for notification purposes. NOTE: Changing the notification email won't change your log-in User ID. It just changes where you get email notifications from TurboTax. Once you change the email address, if it says "unverified" by it. Click on that little link, and it should have you verify the email address there. It may then send you a link or code. Perhaps if you verify there, then it won't ask again for a code to verify during efiling. Also, while in account settings review your other info to be sure it is correct. Or is your issue something different? For instance, are you unable to sign in and access your Online TurboTax account at all? TIP: Apart from this, if you want to continue using the same notification email address that is in your account settings, then you need to reset the password to your email account so you can retrieve any future notifications.
