Did you buy the Desktop program but accidentally get into the Online version? If that happened to you, you can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info. Sorry you can't apply the Desktop CD/Download program and License Code to the Online version. They are separate prices and work different. Investment expenses are no longer deductible as an itemized deduction on your federal return but may be deductible on your state return. This deduction has been suspended by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2018.
Your investment advisor fees can be entered as a miscellaneous itemized deduction on your Schedule A which will flow to your state return if your state doesn't conform with The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2018.
Follow the instructions below:
Open TurboTax
Select Deductions & Credits
Scroll down to Other Deductions & Credits
Select Other Deductible Expenses
Select Yes to Did you have any of these less common expenses?
Enter the Description "Investment expenses" and the amount
If your state doesn't conform with federal, you will see the deduction on your state return.
Refer to the TurboTax article Tax Tips for Investors for more information.

I don't what your situation is (refinance, sold & bought home, or lender sold mortgage) so I can't advise on how to enter your 1098s. I will assume you just need to know how to override the amount of deductible interest. After entering all 1098 data exactly as shown on the forms and selecting Done With Entering Mortgage Interest, you should eventually get to a screen that says something like Your Deduction Is Being Limited and and that's where there should be an option to enter the interest you calculated.

Yes you have 60 days to deposit it into a new IRA account or back into the old IRA. Do you need to use the money for 45 days for something? That would be like taking a short term loan. It's ok. Be sure you put it into a Traditional IRA. If you put it into a ROTH IRA that is a conversion and will be all taxable now. At the end of the year you will get a 1099R for it. After you enter the 1099R it will ask what you did with it. You pick I moved the money to another account even if you put it back into the same account. Then that will expand and you pick I rolled over all this money. Then it will expand to enter how much you rolled over.

I ran into the same problem, coming from H&R Block after they wouldn't fix a SW bug on their side. I couldn't import from our 2023 return until I re-opened H&RBlock 2023 and printed an abridged set of 2023 tax docs. I didn't print all of the worksheets, and left out schedule E. This was then readable by TT2024, so I got a bit of my info read in automatically. That said, it interpreted our 2023 AGI without a decimal point, thus multiplying it by 100 (that'll probably haunt me when I go to efile - will need to catch it). Be sure to verify all imported info!

@DJ327 2 things. You are in the Home & Business Desktop program. I have it too. As you figured out the H&B version doesn't have the Federal tab. It is broken out into Business & Personal. So whenever you see go to Federal listed you use Personal. Then for the State efile fee. In the Desktop program it is $25 to efile a state return or you can print and mail state for free. The $40 Refund Processing fee is only if you want the $25 deducted from your federal refund which you can avoid by paying the $25 with a credit card. People get going too fast to efile and don’t read the screens slowly and click on the wrong button. Here is a screenshot from a prior year.

From 2024, California does not allow intangible drilling cost deduction but Turbo Tax seems to have applied it for California as well. Can someone help on how to handle intangible drilling cost deduction for California ?
