Though my financial advisor we did a large Roth Conversion from my wife's Tax Deferred IRA in 2024. Meanwhile, we received a benefit from my Tax Deferred account. Both are reported as income. However, the income from my tax deferred account was permitted to take the $12, 500 pension exclusion however my wife's Roth conversion was not accepted even though it was taxed as income. Are Roth conversions eligible for the Delaware Pension Exclusion if a distribution to the account holder was not made?

That makes sense! Appreciate it. I relooked and yes that's what happened. Although I paid, they had the difference as "due" . I was like, I already paid everything in full, whats this extra 500?! Ha ...

You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.
Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed. Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead.
What is the rejection code or rejection message?
If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2023 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Because one of my Financial Institutions has told me they "Corrected" my forms, I need to Import their latest. I've already reported that some forms were not deleted when I did "remove imported data" for that FI. Now I've done a simple test, to check the theory "It must have been entered imported more than once. " I open my filed return that still has the original import from my FI. Instead of first doing "remove imported data" I just import again from the same FI. Now my "Import Summary" shows my FI with two imports, both showing the same list of documents. So I don't believe my import was done twice; it would have shown twice in the import list. It would also show twice in the list of "remove imported data" documents. The issue remains. After tonight's program update I have tried my original procedure again on my original file: "remove imported data". Same issue, the "Form 1099-B Wks" remains in the Forms list, now with "Untitled" as the named FI. Of course the original FI is no longer in the list of imported data. I've already deleted those abandoned forms and moved ahead with importing the "Corrected" forms. I've done some other experiments that show the corrected FI import can be properly deleted when done on a fresh-start tax return. (Of course the original import is not available from the FI any more to be tested.) I've also found by experiment that the "Corrected" import can be removed from my return without leaving behind any "Form 1099-B Wks". I'm at a loss how to figure out if this software and FI import is working.

We can't see what you're looking at, but it's possible you are looking at a confusing summary page that TurboTax presents to users, where it sums (nets) the Federal and state returns to arrive at a net figure. For example, if someone is receiving a $300 Federal refund and also owed state taxes due of $900, that summary page nets those 2 figures and says $600 due. If you're looking at that summary page, were your state taxes that you paid about $500 more than your Federal refund you received? If so, TurboTax is just adding (netting) them to let people know how they made out at the end of the day.

if you owed say the state the $500 and paid it, Turbotax will always show you owe the $500. that's because it never assumes the amount was paid. Even a payment scheduled thru the app can be revoked.
