there is no reciprocity between the two states. assuming you both were full-year Illinois residents, the MO wages are taxable in IL. to avoid )complete) double taxation what IL allows is a credit for some or all of the MO taxes paid.   For this to work properly in Turbotax the non-resident state must be done first.

I had the page on my phone and when I transferred to the computer I couldn't bring up that page
Found the overage in the Tax Payments Worksheet, line 6, Overpayments applied to 2024.  Sorry folks, it's late and time for bed. Hope this helps someone else.
The prior year was never asked but when I put in the e-pin, it stated invalid pin was entered for prior year pin.
Well, thanks for the 1st part. Yes I find that file. It shows in Apps.   So that is encouraging. I'll check the FAQ to see why TT2024 can't find it.
The representative told me I do have the discount and I will be able to find it on the website, but I couldn’t and he didn’t know how to help me either. What should I do?
This would lower what I owe but I don’t know by how much. Right now I owe $5900

Please delete this post or ignore it. I looked further and found that I had overpaid last year and applied the overage to this year taxes. Not sure that  TT's use of "estimated tax" is the best term or where to place it, especially since the Franchise Tax Board shows it as "Other Payment/Credit."  Maybe it is listed as a credit somewhere in the program and I haven't found it yet.

I have this issue also. I filed 2023 TT Deluxe Fed & State downloaded version. Last year I was not happy when it would not import H&R Block I had had to use previous year since Mac was too old. Last year new mac. So this year expected I should be able to easily import last year. But it doesn't show up. & when I opened 2023 I demanded i update.  I' have been scared of that since a # of years ago I updated & it lost a return or something.   When I open 2023 it does not show any returns! But I had done them & filed.

I use TurboTax to calculate my 2024 tax. I have $214,000 long term capital gain in 2024. I also have long term capital loss carryover of $204,000 from prior years. I am hit with AMT, and the loss carryover was not applied in calculating AMT tax, nor is it carried forward to next year. Is this correct? Could a TurboTax expert explain the AMT rules regarding loss carryover?
