Hi,   I have filed my 2025 tax return. It has been accepted. I don't want to change my return. But I would like to change a copy of my 2025 return. And use the TurboTax system to modify this copy. This would allow me to estimate next year's taxes. I am retired and will be making quarterly payments to the IRS.   Is this possible?   Thank you.   Best Regards, Donald

It's not clear what kind of PIN you mean by "E PIN".   Are you referring to the 5-digit PIN where filers "sign" their return?    If so, you don't have to use the same 5-digit signature PIN as last year.   You'll be able to sign with a new one.  It's on a screen with today's date and your birth date.  It will say to choose any 5 digits that you want, except it cannot be all zeros.   Or are you referring to a 6-digit IP PIN (Identity Protection PIN) that some filers will need?   If so, that 6-digit IP PIN is entered in a completely separate section of the TurboTax interview.   Not everybody will need an IP PIN, which is mainly for victims of ID Theft and for those who elected to opt-in to the IP PIN program.   If that's what you are referring to, and if you are required to use a 6-digit IP PIN, we can tell you how to retrieve one from the IRS.

Some states are fairly quick with refunds, while other states can take a long time processing returns--even several weeks--as they crack down on detecting fraudulent returns.     Here are some things you should check:   First, you need to be sure your state return was successfully filed.   If you efiled, be sure your efiled state return was accepted.  If you used Online TurboTax, you can check by looking at the Tax Home in your Online account.   Or did you choose to file by mail instead?  TurboTax does not mail it for you.  If you chose that method, you have to print, sign, date, and mail it.   The FAQ below tells how to check on a state refund.   When you scroll down further there, you will see a link for your state.   FAQ:  How do I track my state refund? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
There’s only room for two vehicles for job related expenses, but I drove three different vehicles in 2025. How can I add the third vehicle?

Use the custodian's "excess plus earnings" form to get the contribution and the earnings will be calculated for you. Do this before Tax Day to avoid penalty.   @PhilWineinger
For most people, IRS Free File will work for their kids' simple  tax returns. TurboTax does not participate. Look for one that includes a free state return. @user17722545270

I have a simple NJ return. Last year I received a state refund of $123. The amount in box 17 was $123.45.   This year the amount in box 17 is $161.52 which was rounded up to $162. Turbo tax keeps auto-adding a 1099-G form with the $123 and when i see the breakdown, it shows the $123 as taxable income and is being deducted from the $162, which gives me a state refund of $39. I chose the standard deduction. When I looked it up, it said if i chose standard deduction in 2024, my state return should not be considered taxable income but it seems that it still is being considered taxable income. I have completely cleared the form and reentered all my information and nothing changed.   Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not? and if not, how do i fix it?

@aatkinso that's simply not true, regarding the desktop version. You can absolutely manually edit the forms and even override cells with calculated values, etc. What I found was that even when the sum of the individual year values was corrected so that the total matched the most recent passive operating loss, I still got the error about the sum of individual years can't exceed the current loss. I ended up just zeroing out ask the previous years and using the most recent passive loss for the last year. That did it. From what I understand, and I (and Gemini) could definitely be wrong, the error is with the schedule E worksheet, which doesn't even get submitted to the IRS, it's just used to calculate the value for the form 8582, and you can also confirm the correct value manually for that form in the desktop version. Took me about 15 minutes to figure that all out after I bought the desktop version and I was able to get my taxes done. Will definitely use a different product next year, assuming the IRS doesn't get abolished first 😂.   Good luck, Intuit/TT doesn't care, that's for sure.
It doesn;t say what line on the return this is going in.  Do they want ordinary dividends, dividend distributions or qualified dividends?
