That's $31,500 base, and $1,600 X 2 for two seniors.
The new $12,000 Senior Deduction is on the second page of your tax return on line 13b. (This may include other credits)

If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive. They are not stored online. If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30 an actual copy of your tax return.

Yes, it is the correct action in TurboTax. Although your employer did withhold this amount for you, it is included with all of your federal withholding (line 25, Form 1040). Once everything is calculated to arrive at your total tax, then withholding will be used to reduce your total tax.
Schedule 2, part 2, line 11 (from Form 8959) is combined with any other special taxes and carried to Form 1040, line 23. You can review your forms before you complete your return by using the steps below.
From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
Select Tax Tools
On the drop-down select Tools
On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary
On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040
For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY? I WANT THE FREE EDITION
The information that you can enter in Free Edition is pretty limited now. Thanks to the tax laws that began for 2018 returns, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's. Everything goes on a Form 1040 that has three extra "schedules" with it, and if you need any of those schedules, you are not able to use the Free Edition. Using the standard deduction instead of itemizing does NOT mean you will not need any of those schedules. If you started in the Free Edition and entered any data that required any extra forms or schedules, you have to upgrade to a paid version and if you are watching the screens carefully you are alerted to the upgrade.
TurboTax Online: Important Details about Filing Simple Form 1040 Returns
If you have a simple Form 1040 return only (no forms or schedules except as needed to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit or student loan interest), you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic at the listed price. Roughly 37% of taxpayers are eligible.
Examples of situations included in a simple Form 1040 return (assuming no added tax complexity):
W-2 income
Interest, dividends or original issue discounts (1099-INT/1099-DIV/1099-OID) that don’t require filing a Schedule B
IRS standard deduction
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
Child Tax Credit (CTC)
Student loan interest deduction
Taxable qualified retirement plan distributions
Examples of situations not included in a simple Form 1040 return:
Itemized deductions claimed on Schedule A, like charitable contributions, medical expenses, mortgage interest and state and local tax deductions
Unemployment income reported on a 1099-G
Business or 1099-NEC income (often reported by those who are self-employed, gig workers or freelancers)
Stock sales (including crypto investments)
Income from rental property or property sales
Credits, deductions and income reported on other forms or schedules

I don't agree with your response. I have EXACTLY the same situation as lhopkins25. My spouse had an HDHP for all of 2024 and the first 9 months of 2025. Then had medicare the last three months of 2025. Since they had an HDHP and HSA for all of 2024 and previous years, I do not believe the "last month rule" applies. Turbo tax asks for the kind of HDHP coverage for each month of the prior year - 2024. I filled in self plan for each month and Turbo Tax computes income of $429 plus 10% penalty under the last month rule. If I go back and change the Jan 2024 month to say they had "Medicare or None", then suddenly the additional income and penalty goes away. So something is definitely wrong in TurboTax.

Yes, that seems to be a display issue that won't affect your tax return. If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies and close/re-open the program. You can view your return by clicking in the left-side menu Tax Tools > Tools > View Tax Summary. Back at the left-side menu, choose 'Preview My 1040'.
If you're using TurboTax Desktop, in FORMS you can verify that your return is showing your entries.

Kansas City Missouri has a city earnings tax, which is 1% of wages earned in the city for nonresidents. Your employer is usually required to withhold the tax, which should appear in Box 19 of your W2. If you see it there, you do not have to file a city tax return. If your employer did not withhold, you would be required to file and pay the earnings tax.

If your W-2 doesn't have any info for overtime on box 14, don't enter anything during the W-2 input, you will compute it later.
After you have finished entering your W-2, continue through the interview, and you will have a list of uncommon situations to choose from- overtime is one of them. Check the box.
Then, follow these steps:
1. On the screen "Let's see if your overtime qualifies as tax-free," either select "Help me calculate my eligible overtime" or "No help needed—I know what to enter."
2. No matter which option you selected in Step 1, the next screen will ask if you were or were not an exempt employee. Note that you must be non-exempt in order to be eligible for the overtime deduction.
3. Next, if you chose that you know what to enter, you will be asked to enter your deductible overtime from your employer, you can continue on, and TurboTax will compute the deduction, if you are eligible. If you chose that you needed help, you will be asked what info you have about the overtime and will be guided through the computation. Since your overtime was not on your W-2, you may have a letter from your employer, and if not, it is highly recommended to obtain and save your last paystub of the year.
The last paystub of the year is important to help you compute this, because only the overtime (the extra "half" in time-and-a-half is deductible.

@ kayzelol asked: "I just bought Turbotax desktop for $120, it said I can file 5 free files. But adter installation, it said I can switch to online for free, it will be still 5 files?" No. An Online account can only prepare 1 Federal return per year. It cannot handle multiple Federal returns. Efiling of the 1 Federal return online is free, however. That switch offer during installation also includes a state return, which is also free to efile. If you have multiple Federal returns to prepare, it would be quite expensive online if they are all in paid editions.
