The 1/14/26 update did fix TurboTax Deluxe desktop so that it now uses the manually entered 1099-R data in the tax calculation. In the "Forms" view, you see the 1099-R entries in the 1099R summary form and on the 1040. Now the 1099-R information now also shows up in my Colorado State tax forms. In the "EasyStep" view, it is still showing "Available Soon" for the entering 1099-R information. Others have posted the 1/21/26 update will fix this this issue.

As previously stated on this thread - the estimated date when the Form 1099-R section will be available in TurboTax is 01/21/2026.

This is a known issue and TurboTax is actively working on a solution. Keep checking for updates by closing and restarting TurboTax. If I find any new information, I will post here in this thread.

Meeting any of those safe harbors is sufficient to avoid an underpayment penalty. I specifically mentioned 110% of 2024 tax liability since it is the one that most commonly applies when there is a large amount of unexpected taxable income, but either of the others could apply.

In future years, H&R can also decide to require W111. There have been some discussions that, sooner or later, all DIY desktop software providers will stop supporting desktop prep

Go to MY INFO to enter a dependent.
Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.

Senior-level management does not read the posts on this board and they probably wouldn't care if they did. Writing a letter might get noticed at some level. This board is for TurboTax users to ask operational questions and questions re tax law, regulations, and procedures.
