No. Rolling over your Roth IRA to another Roth IRA is not the same as opening a Roth IRA.
Transferring your Roth IRA to a different broker does not reset the 5-year holding period; the 5-year clock starts when you make your first contribution to any Roth IRA, and it applies to all your Roth IRAs, meaning a transfer between accounts does not restart the waiting period.

When I ran smart check after entering all my information I received an error that Schedule B Line 7A must be blank. I deleted the check mark and left the line blank. I ran smart check again and it says Line 7A must be checked yes or no which is what I did the first time. I've done this 3 times now and it keeps erroring out telling me to check either yes or no, run smart check and get told I must leave it blank. What's going on with my program that I'm not allowed to check this block "no" which is the correct answer. This is preventing me from completing my taxes. It won't get pass this error. Respectfully, Richard

22 January 2026 - The input section for Form 1099R has gone active. The information that I had previously entered using the "Forms" radio button transferred. HOWEVER, there may be a problem when entering the required RMD box. There is a question that asks what your required RMD was for that account. The logical reason for that question would be to compare the required amount you enter to what you actually withdrew to make sure you met the minimum amount required by the RMD table. I had withdrawn more than the required amount AND paid the estimated tax due at time of withdrawal. However, when I entered the required minimum amount, it immediately shaved $1,500 off my refund. I had already computed my required taxes using the Old School 1040 forms method so this instant $1,500 hit appears very much to be an error in the newly opened 1099R section. If I enter zero into the question, the refund remains as originally computed using the Form 1040. However, zero dollars, $0.00 is NOT the minimum I was required to withdraw by 31 December 2025. Thanks

YES, you just highlight the return didn't want to keep and hit your delete button on your keypad. who would've thought after reading all these other complicated responses, that just hitting your delete key would remove it.

You're not alone. I started a similar thread on this bug. Mods suggested the 1/22 update would fix it, but it didn't.
