I am completing the Minnesota State return. It is asking questions that would be on our Property Tax Statement for 2019. We don't even get this until March. can I just skip this part for now and do file that separately?

Yes, you can wait to file the Homestead Property Tax Refund Form.
The M1PR is filed separately from your Minnesota Tax Return. It is due by August 15, 2016. Print out and mail Form M1PR with all applicable worksheets and the CRP form to:
Minnesota Property Tax Refund
St Paul, MN 55145-0020
Do not let turbotax add in your last year's (2018) Minnesota property tax refund as non-taxable income on M1PR--there is a mistake in the turbotax computation for additional income!!!!!!!!!! Check with Minnesota department of revenue if you don't believe me. Or see Minnesota instructions for M1PR form.
Since our property tax statement doesn't come until late spring, it would be nice if Turbo tax asked if we wanted to work on the property tax rebate. Then when we said no, we could finish the state taxes. They then could somehow let us back in when we get our property tax statement and we could complete it. Other tax preparation sites do this
You can go back into TurboTax after you have e-filed your return.
Under" things you can do" check "Add a State" (You will not really add a state) It is just the way to get back into the return so you can complete your property tax statement that you must mail.
