You will need to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 weekdays from 7am to 7pm local time

This is May 2020 and due to Corona Virus, there is no one at that number to take calls.  I also went online but couldn't find it there either.

IRS live telephone assistance is currently unavailable due to COVID-19. Normal operations will resume when possible. Tax help is available 24 hours a day on IRS.gov.  The IRS website offers a variety of online tools to help taxpayers answer common tax questions. For example, taxpayers can search the Interactive Tax AssistantTax TopicsFrequently Asked Questions, and Tax Trails to get answers to common questions. Those who have already filed can check their refund status by visiting IRS.gov/Refunds.

Calling IRS is a waste of time.  After 30-60 minutes you will be told to download form 433D and mail in.

IRS can not accept changes over the phone.

Where do I mail the completed 433-D? The downloaded form says "mail it to the address on the front of this letter."

I didn't get a letter, I downloaded the form and I couldn't find any info on the IRS.GOV site

My mother - Thelma Allen - died in December 2020. I have completed preparing her 2020 tax return on Turbo Tax and am at the page where it asks to what account my refund should be sent.  All my mother's accounts are now closed, so I checked the box for having it sent to a new account. I then typed in the account information for the new account. I then got a message that I had not indicated where I wanted the money sent. I went back to the previous page and the box that I had checked was unchecked. I checked it again, and the same thing happened again.

Help! How do I get Turbo Tax to accept the new account that I have requested to have the money sent to?

Once your return has been accepted (or mailed), it's too late to change your bank account for direct deposit. If the info you provided is for a closed or invalid account, the government will just mail you a refund check.

If it has been longer than 10 business days since you filed your tax return and you selected your direct deposit with the Turbo Visa Debit Card you can visit TurboDebitCard.com or call toll-free at (888) 285-4169 Follow these steps:

  1. Listen to the recording (you cannot skip it)
  2. Press 2 to continue using the automated system.
  3. The system will ask you to enter your 16 digit card number or if you don't know it, enter your social security number (do not enter either one of these)
  4. The system will then say " To report a card lost, stolen, or never received, Press 1", then press 1
  5. Press 2 for the option of " have not yet received your card".
  6. Next you will be prompted to enter your social security number, zip code, and birthdate.

Need to change bank account information!!

@Sweetjeremy69

You are not able to update your direct deposit information in TurboTax  once you have filed your 2019 return. If your financial institution rejects the deposit, the government will mail your refund check. Please see What if I entered the wrong bank account for direct deposit? for additional information.

If you have yet to file, you can update your refund by following the instructions in the TurboTax FAQ How do I change my refund method?

@Carolalbrecht30 Please see the information, the IRS has listed below:

The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?

In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.

Please see the information from the IRS below, regarding the stimulus checks:

If you have not filed or do not need to file a tax return this link What do I need to do to get my stimulus payment? has information on how to apply for the stimulus check.  If you have filed your 2019 tax return the IRS is planning to open a portal to allow taxpayers to input their direct deposit information.  You can visit the following links for the most recent updates:IRS Coronavirus Tax ReliefTurboTax Corona Virus Tax Center Updates
