Where do you put 1098-t form on taxes

Use the steps below to go directly to this area in the program.

1.Open (continue) your return in TurboTax, if it's not already open.

2. In the search box at top right enter 1098-T and then click the Jump to 1098-T link in the search results.

3. Answer Yes to Do you want to enter your higher education expenses?

• If you land on the Your Education Expenses Summary screen instead, you can edit an existing student or add a new one.

Enter your Form 1098-T exactly as you see it. Here are some important tips: If any boxes on your 1098-T are blank, leave them blank. Don't enter 0 (this may cause errors later).If boxes 1 or 2 on your 1098-T form are wrong, enter those amounts anyway. Then click What if this is not what I paid? right below box 2 and enter the correct amount of tuition paid.

I am not asked this question - my tuition amount is defaulting to $0 when I land on the Your Education Expenses Summary screen and I am unable to edit an existing student. Where do I go to edit an existing student?

Where to put the 1098T was well answered by @MeganS in this thread. However, @Icstanek asked how to edit a student.

Once a student is entered, when you jump from the 1098T search, it brings you into the student questions, part way in. You have to go through and answer those questions again. When you get to the end of the section, it will have an  option to edit or delete the student.
