What do I put under California Amount for Student Loan Interest Deduction?

On the page for State Taxes where I am supposed to enter my Student Loan Interest Deductions, what am I supposed to put for "California Amount"? The "Federal Adjusted" amount lists the full amount in interest I paid in 2016.

If you were a CA resident for the entire year, then the "CA amount" of student Loan Interest is the same as the "Federal Adjusted Amount".

If you were not a CA resident for the entire year, then the "CA amount" of student Loan Interest is the amounts you paid while a resident of CA.
