Hi, I am going to address your "issues" one by one:
Issue (1): Yes, if you start over completely, your 2019 will again be imported exactly as it was the first time around. Part 2 of your issue #1, you state that you would like to "move" these 2 2020 files - is is safe to assume that you are working off of a desktop version? If you are, definitely rename them and save them to your C Drive. If you are not, and are working strictly online, then the only thing you'd be able to save are the PDF versions of what you've prepared thus far. But, I think by how you worded your questions that you are working off of a Desktop version. Please correct me if I am mistaken
Issue (2): You are literally starting over again with a "clean slate", so to speak.
Issue (3): Now, as for the previous years, if you calculate what you should have gotten back verus what you did get back, and it is worth your time - then DO IT!!! Definitely worth it! 1040x are actually rather simple and quick to do.
IRS 1040x Instructions pages 4 and 5, specifically, and
"Can I file an amended Form 1040-X electronically? You can now submit the Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return electronically using available tax software products. Only tax year 2019 Forms 1040 and 1040-SR returns can be amended electronically."
1040x PDF So you can see what the form looks like and how "simplified" it is. I have every faith in you!
Type '1098t' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1098t'.
If you have two 1098-T's for the same Student, EDIT your Student at the Education Expenses Summary screen (screenshot).
Then choose 'Add a School' to enter the second 1098-T (screenshot). You may want to Delete the incorrect 1098-T and start over with the 1098-T entries.
If the second 1098-T is for a different student, choose 'Add A Student' at the Education Expenses Summary screen.

Since you have already Efiled, if your return is Rejected, you will be able to open it and make any changes.
If it is accepted, click this link for instructions on How to Amend your 2020 Return.

MarilynG1,
I thank you for your response. I understand it and it makes sense to me.
However, I would like to try something else, just because I am a nerdy stickler and for my curiosity,
and I would like to know if you agree.
I want to start all over for the 2020 return. That way, I can re-enter everything, paying particularly close attention to the two (2) 1098-Ts.
It is a fairly simple and not very complicated return, I have all my supporting documents, and it should be quick and easy.
ISSUE 1 - If I do this, TTaxDeluxe will import my 2019 data, as it did the first time. So, I believe I should temporarily move the current two (2) TTaxDeluxe 2020 files to another location, just to keep them safe from being overwritten or accessed by the program during this procedure.
ISSUE 2 - Or, should I not do this? I have never filed an amended return (1040-X ?), so, I do not know how TTaxDeluxe will handle that. When I begin that process, does it point me to a specific issue, or do I get to reenter it all again (as I wanted to do above)?
My desire here is, that I want to be as thorough and accurate as possible. I have only been using TTaxDeluxe for three (3) years and only have these rather simple returns.
So, what should I do, please?
Thanks,
/ Steve /

P.S. ISSUE 3 - And, by the way, I must admit, I am very disappointed in that I am going through this now, that my past two (2) years might also have be wrong (in that I was not afforded the maximum refund, as advertised and guaranteed by TTax) because of it not working correctly!!! I believe TTax may have a defective product, if indeed the software's programming does not function as needed. That said, look at the procedures you have advised I take. Why, with such a hand-holding product as this is, would it be so troublesome and user-unfriendly? For this function (1098-Ts), it does not appear to seamlessly flow as all other portions of the TTaxDeluxe software product.
