Student loan interest deduction part-year allocation

I used the Student Loan Interest Deduction on my Federal Income taxes and now I am filling out my state taxes.  I moved from one state to another.  Under the Part-Year Allocation section it is asking me how much of the Student Loan Interest Deduction I paid while living in the first state.  How do I calculate this?

Student loan interest deduction part-year allocation

You can estimate the amount based on the time spent in each state.  If for example you spend 4 months in state A and 8 months in state B, you would allocate 1/3 to state A and the rest to state B.
