I am unable to enter room and board expenses for my college student to cover all of my distributions for the tax year. I spent about thirty minutes on the phone with tech support and they were clueless about any issues as it appears there is by other posts. I was then disconnected and I could not get get back through for assistance. I have used turbo tax for over thirty years and honestly this is very surprising that a miss this big could happen. If this isn't straightened out quickly i will give another platform a try. Can you give any updates on if this problem is being addressed?

What is the phone number for tech support? I can't find it anywhere. I have this question and also one about my pension. This is the most trouble I've ever had with Turbotax and I've been using it for decades too.
You state the 1099-Q covered room and board and is not taxable. Since the 1099-Q was not income, it should not be entered. Tuck the 1099-Q into your tax folder. IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states that nontaxable distributions should not be entered.
@anonymouse1 See What is the Turbo Tax phone number? and follow the steps for your situation.
