Student loan interest is reported on form 1098-E.

To enter your form 1098-E in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

  1. Open your tax return
  2. Click on Federal in the left panel then on Deductions & Credits
  3. Navigate to the list of Deductions and Credits
  4. Locate the Education section and click on the arrow on the right
  5. Select Start next to Student Loan Interest Paid (Form 1098-E)

You do not enter the amounts of student loans that you received.  You only enter the amounts that were spent on expenses (tuition, books & other course materials including a computer) .  You do not separate amounts spent from loan funds from the totals spent on each category.   You do not usually enter amounts spent on room & board (there are exceptions).
