Trying to claim 18yr old son as dependent. He is a full time college student. I have filled all the forms about him being a student, but TTax won't show him as a dependent or let me claim his tuition expense and other expenses such as computer and books required. I have form 1098-T from the school and completed the info in TTax. Our income is below the 160,000 limit. What could I be boing wrong?

Delete the dependent and re-enter his info.
If it still doesn't qualify him as a dependent, report back how you answered each question in the interview. Or tell us why you think he does qualify as your dependent.

TT will not allow you to claim education expenses for a student who is not your dependent.
Check to see if you indicated that your son is a full-time student when you entered his personal information.

When it asks how long he lived with you, answer all year. Being away at school is considered a temporary absence.
I've done that on all forms, still doesn't change anything.....
