No, you cannot deduct the cost of a vehicle for transportation to and from school.  This would be considered commuting and a personal expense which the IRS does not generally give deductions for.

You could possibly deduct the sales tax paid on the purchase if you are taking the itemized deduction instead of the standard deduction.
