Lost regarding the education credit

Why is it saying that the school has to be in the state zip code to get the american credit. My daughter does school online for an out of state university.

Are you entering Form 1098-T and does that have the proper address for the school?

It sounds like the program is saying that the street address for the school entered from the 1098-T has a zip code that does not match the state of that address.

I suggest you go back to the 1098-T screen and make sure the address is entered properly.

If it is, make sure the address on the 1098-T is correct and there was no typo made by the school.
