Lifetime Learning Credit Incorrect

I am graduate student filing my taxes, and when I entered my 1099-T I used the values given then I was asked what amount of that was accounted for on my W2, since I did an internship in the summer, I was not paid by my university for that time, and thus my income on my W2 is less than the tutition on my 1099-T, but they are supposed to be equal, I didn't pay anything out for tutition. I am therefore ending up with a scholarship value of the difference which incorrectly qualifies me for the Lifetime Learning Credit. I cannot seem to figure out how to fix this inconsistency.

Lifetime Learning Credit Incorrect

You are not required to enter the form 1098-T information on your tax return if you think it is creating a credit that you are not entitled to. So, you can leave that entry off and then the lifetime learning credit will not be listed on your tax return.
