Last year my student loans took my tax return of $7306, can I claim that on this years taxes?

Student loan payments are not a deduction.   Its the same as you getting the refund then sending check to pay the student loan...no deduction, sorry.

You may have paid some interest on it, they would send you a 1098E for that.  That may be a deduction for you.
