Is a failed college class still deductible?

Hello, I took classes in 2016 as a half time student in college, but one of the classes I had failed and did not retake. I paid for this class in full with my own money, but I would like to know if I can still count this towards my school fee deductions.

Yes, you can still count the tuition for a class even if you failed it.

Your college should send you a 1098-T form with the applicable tuition and fee amounts, which should include the failed course.  TurboTax will guide you through the steps for inputting the 1098-T info.
