If I teach kindergarten-level classes to adults, at a public community college, can I deduct money I spend on classroom and student supplies?

I buy the same kinds of supplies as a K-12 teacher would: fat pencils, erasers, mini white boards, cleaning supplies, notebooks. My students are low-income.

No, you cannot use the deduction for classroom supplies.  This deduction is specifically for teachers of grades K-12 only.

If you are a contractor and not an employee, you can deduct the expenses as part of your ordinary and necessary business expense, but you cannot use the classroom teacher deduction.
