I want to know if I can claim acting classes as a college tuition or expense if the school is outside of a college/university.

Qualified education expenses are tuition expenses paid to an eligible educational institution (most universities and colleges).

If your tuition for your acting class is paid to a school outside the list of eligible educational institution, then it cannot be claimed as education expenses.
