Can I deduct mileage for carpooling school children to and from school that are not my own?

No - You can only claim mileage that relates to business usage of your vehicle. Carpooling children to school would be considered a nondeductible personal expense by the IRS.

So unless you are getting paid as a business to carpool other people's children to school, you will not be able to claim any mileage deduction.
