Unfortunately, this form is not supported by TurboTax Online. The form is now in the Desktop version. You can access it through the Forms mode.

1) Use TurboTax Desktop (TTD) version, not TurboTax Online.

2) Use this form to fill it out manually https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8903.pdf

3) Then open your tax file in TTD and go to Forms - top left corner for Mac users and top right corner for Win users.

4) On the left where all the forms are listed, find 1040 Wks.

5) Scroll down to line 36 and right above it, you will see a Worksheet.

6) Add DPAD description in line H.

7) Put the amount from line 25 of your Form 8903 (see step 2).

😎 Enter the amount.

Here are a couple of links that will help you with logistics:

Purchase TTD https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/ (Even Basic version will work for your purposes).

2018 Entering Domestic Production Activities Deduction 1099-PATR box 6

There are 2 types of Domestic Production Activities Deduction that can show up in the 1099-PATR box 6.  They will not show up on the same one but the difference is whether the cooperatives accounting year is fiscal or calendar.

Cooperative filing on a Fiscal year where the tax year began before 1/1/18:

These cooperatives still fall under the old regulations and have DPAD under IRC 199.  The amount from box 6 of the 1099-PATR is reported on Line 23 of the 8903 which will flow to Schedule 1 as an adjustment to income.

QBI calculation needs to be adjusted on the appropriate entity the co-op income is reported on as the income that generates the DPAD cannot also be used for QBI.

A diagnostic warning will appear in Final Review if this adjustment needs to be made:

"Both Form 8903 and either Schedule F or Form 4835 are present in the return. Income associated to the Form 8903 deduction is not allowed for calculating the Qualified Business Income deduction. You will need to adjust the Qualified Business Income eligible for the deduction by the amount of income (possibly the amount in box 6 of the 1099-PATR). Go to the appropriate Schedule F or Form 4835 where the income was reported and override the amount on Line E1 of the Qualified Business Income Deduction Info worksheet at the bottom of the Schedule/Form."

Cooperative filing on a calendar year or fiscal year where the tax year began after 12/31/17:

These cooperatives fall under the new regulations and have DPAD under IRC 199A(g).  The amount from box 6 of the 1099-PATR does not go on the form 8903.  The amount, after any adjustments per Line 39 of the Worksheet 12-A (see pub 535) which shows up in ProSeries as the QBI Complex Worksheet, will flow to Line 10 of the new Form 1040.  There is a required statement that will be attached to reflect the Line 10 is adjusted by this 1099A DPAD.

A future update will allow a distinction between these two types of Domestic Production Activities Deduction and allow a flow-through for Line 39 of the QBI Complex Worksheet.

That deduction was not renewed for 2018 ... it is no longer on the 1099-misc form :  <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1099msc--2018.pdf">https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1099msc--20...>

Where do I report 1099- MISC box 6 domestic production activities deduction from an agriculture cooperative for a partnership in 2018 turbotax business?

The question was concerning 1099-PATR not 1099-MISC and this is still available and part of the transition rule for patrons of agricultural cooperatives.  How does turbotax business 2018 allow an entry in the program so this information is passed through to partners in the partnership?

How do I report this cooperative dpad with form 1065 so it is allocated to each of the individual partners?  The answer provided was for form 1040.
