Where do I find my depreciation schedule

The TurboTax CPA claimed funds but I need to see the depreciation schedule for a new CPA. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Where do I find my depreciation schedule

The Online version only gives you Form 4562.

Form 4562 is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and doesn't list the items. If you need to see the details,

You need to use the Desktop program. Using the Desktop program you can get an Asset Life History worksheet but you have to do it in Forms Mode, click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac)  You can't get detailed worksheet showing all the assets but you can get the Asset Life History on each one. It doesn't print out with your return or save in the pdf.  So you have to print each Asset Life History individually.

Scroll down the list of forms in your return to a Asset Entry or Asset Worksheet and open it.  Then down on line 14 is a QuickZoom button to Asset Life History, Click on that.

If you have the Desktop program or switch to it, see my 2 screenshots on this one to get the depreciation schedule for each Asset.

When you downloaded the PDF of your tax return, did you download the "all worksheets" version?  If so, it should be in there.  You need to look for the one that that says "Depreciation and Amortization Report" (it looks like a spreadsheet; it may be sideways).

It looks like you need to pay extra for the Desktop version?

Is there a way to get the depreciation schedule from 2023 just in the online version? Seems a bit silly we'd have to pay and download another version just to receive the full worksheets...

It depends. If you don't see the worksheet selection when using the Print Center in TurboTax Online, then I would advise you to use the TurboTax Desktop version. You will have all detail for all assets.

Tips for TurboTax Desktop:

You can get an asset life history worksheet but you have to do it in Forms. Click Forms in the upper right. You can't get detailed worksheet showing all the assets and you can get the asset life history on each one. It doesn't print out with your return or save in the pdf, however you can print each one.

  • Scroll down the list of forms in your return to a Asset Entry or Asset Worksheet and open it.
  • Then down to a QuickZoom button to asset life history.

There is no option to select this, only says download TAX PDF. Turbo tax is useless!

Where do I find my depreciation schedule

If you are trying to find your depreciation schedule in the current year return, in TurboTax Online, go to the Print Center. You would need to have paid for your product in order to print. Choose to Print, Save, or Preview this year's form. The Depreciation and Amortization Report are near the end of the documents in the Federal return.

If you are trying to find your depreciation schedule from last year's return:

1. Navigate to "Tax Home"

2. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Your tax returns & documents" to expand the options

3. For the year you're interested in, click "Amend (change) XXXX return." XXXX represents the year in question

4. Confirm by clicking "Amend using TurboTax Online"

5. On the next screen, look to the tool bar on the left side of the window. There should be an option for "Tax Tools." Click this to expand options, then click "Print Center"

6. Click "Print, save or preview this year's return"

7. Select the checkbox for Federal return (and any other return you want to save), plus the option to "Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional)"

Once you save and open the pdf, you should be able to find the depreciation schedule.

See this help article for more information.

Where do I find my depreciation schedule

Bless you! I've been trying to locate my depreciation documents for days now and yours is the first thread I've come across that has step-by-step guidance that actually helped me navigate to them correctly. Everyone keeps referring to the print center but if you're not actively amending your return, there is no print center to be found! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
