Where do i enter professional organization dues

Deductible professional organization dues paid to professional organizations if membership helps you carry out the duties of your job, are deducted as unreimbursed business expenses as an itemized deduction on Schedule A. Your unreimbursed business expenses must be at least 2 percent of your adjusted gross income(AGI) in order for them to be deductible.

To enter professional organization dues into TurboTax Free Edition Online:

  • Login to your account tax timeline (Continue your return)
  • In the search box type the words Schedule A
  • This will bring you to the Deductions & Credits section of Federal Taxes (It will ask a question about Medical Expenses)
  • Click Deductions & Credits; Click Continue
  • In the Let's do a quick check for more tax breaks screen, click Job-Related Expenses; Click Continue
  • Click Start or Update next to Job-Related Expenses
  • In the Employment Expenses Related to a W-2 screen answer yes or no to the question Did you have any of these expenses in 2015 for your W-2 income? Click Continue.
  • In the Did you have any of these expenses in 2015? screen, click Yes, then Continue
  • In the next screen, type in your occupation; Click Continue
  • Answer the remaining questions until you reach the Job-Related Expenses screen,
  • Type the words Professional Dues and the dollar amount in the boxes (as shown in the attached screenshot)
