What's the business code for youtuber / youtube channel?

Got a 1099 for the YouTube channel, so need help figuring out which business code to use. Was thinking 541800 Advertising & related services    because income is from ads...thoughts?

The correct code to use is one of two choices depending on what you actually do on any internet social media platform. These codes do not specifically state 'except internet'.  This information is specifically for 2021 tax returns because the IRS does add or change the business codes from one year to another.

1. 519100 Other information services (including news syndicates & libraries, Internet publishing & broadcasting), or
2. 512100 Motion picture & video industries (except video rental).  ​​​​​​​

When I put the business/naics code on turbo tax, does it matter which one I put for the naics code or subcode?

You need to choose a code as close to the description of your business activities as you can.

You can see 2022 NAICS for the full list for 2022 activities.
