What is schedule c business code and where do I find it?
A business code is a way for the IRS to classify the type of product or service you provide in your business. You can update your six-digit Business Code by going back to Edit the Business Profile. (See below for a reference of what the Business Codes are.)
While inside the software and working on your return, type Schedule C in the Search at the top of the screen (you may see a magnifying glass there). There will be a popup that says Jump to Schedule C. Select that to get to the general area.
· Click to Edit next next to the business
· You should see Business Profile toward the top of the screen.
·
Select that, then scroll to Business Code
Here's a list of all available business codes (also available in the TurboTax interview):

Note that if your business can’t be classified, enter 999999 as the principal business code.
