This past March I purchased TurboTax business 2024 from Costco and did my estate tax 1041 return. Everything was fine then. This past week I now need to create a final return and close out the estate. I launched the program and it initially doesn't really know what to do and asked to load my 2023 return. Technically, I want to load the 2024 return so but it doesn't like that and since there is only the personal information to copy over I selected it. TurboTax told me the file was corrupted and to try again, and if that didn't work to start all over. It also didn't work the second time so I started over, manually reentering all of the information. About the time TurboTax thought I was near completion it prompted me to update the program, so I selected that. It saved the file, updated the program then restarted. When I selected the new file I had just created it told me the file was also corrupted. I actually don't think the file is corrupted, I think there is a bug in the software that was introduced in the recent update(s). I called Intuit support and was told that they cannot help me because I purchased the software from Costco, and they only support software purchased online from Intuit. I also think this is false and am now extremely frustrated, first because the software is thinking everything is corrupt, and second because the support people are telling customers they won't help them. Please help or point me to the place where I can get this resolved.

I'm a little confuse as to the tax year of the estate. you cannot not load a 2023 return using the 2024 app.
a fiscal year estate with a tax year including 12/31/2024 ending in 2025 would use the 2024 app. there would be issues trying to do a 2025 final return. you would probably need to create a new return without the ability to transfer data from the prior return
one thing you might do is uninstall the app and reinstall it.
