TRUST - NY STATE IT-205 - ERROR DURING TRANSMISSION

Hi,

Turbotax for Business, for a Trust, NY State, IT-205.

This error occurs right after Transmit Returns Now (2023 Federal, and New York Estate/Trust).

Then after checking for updates and cycling back to transmit returns now, this:

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE LIMIT ?!?!?!?

The name of the trust is 42 characters long.

If you want to test this, this would work:

ABCDEFGHIJABCDEFG SUPPLEMENTAL NEEDS TRUST

If the name of the trust were a problem (for NY State only, not Federal, mind you), then shouldn't it have been brought up a little sooner, maybe? You cannot edit the name of the trust at this point during transmission. And the IT-205 fill in form has plenty more room for the trust name so I don't understand what the problem is here.

Kindly fix this so I can file, this is urgent, I am delaying my brother's taxes because I have to deliver a K-1.

I found the answer to this problem (very frustrating).

Go to the NYS worksheet. Right click on the trust name and click "override." You can then edit the name.
