Social Security Income reported twice

In entered my SSA-1099 form for Social Security Income under 'Retirement Plans and Social Security. It also showed up as Less Common Income under Miscellaneous Income adding it twice to my Total Income.  How do I remove it from Miscellaneous Income so I'm not taxed twice on it?

Social Security Income reported twice

Are you looking at summary screens in TurboTax or your federal tax return Form 1040?  If you entered the SSA-1099 in the Retirement Plans and Social Security section of the program and no where else the amount you entered will only be reported once on your return.

On the Form 1040 your SS benefits are shown on the Form 1040 Line 6a with the taxable amount (if any) on Line 6b.

You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
