Received schedule k1 2016 . Do I file in 2016 or 2017?

The estate doesn't close until Feb 27, 2017, but I already received a schedule k1 2016

The Form 1040 K1 for 2016 will be included with your 2016 tax return.  You will likely get one for 2017, if there is any taxable earnings before distribution and dissolution in 2017.

Including the Form 1041-K1 can be done by following the steps below while you are logged into your TurboTax Premier Account.  TurboTax will walk you through the steps.

• My Account > Tools > Topic Search > Type estates and trusts > Go
• Continue to make the entries for each line on your K1
• Click the images attached to enlarge and view for assistance.
