I e-filed my return it was accepted. I went to print the filing documentation and got the error message "Electronic Filing information Dcn has too many characters. What does this mean and how do i correct it?

If it was accepted, you have nothing to worry about. The DCN is the Declaration Control Number. I should be 14 digits. The first 2 are a placeholder, the next 6 are the EFIN of the firm and the final 6 are a serial number portion from the firm plus the tax year.
Double check to make sure it is 14 digits.
@ZoltanB45 what if it was not accepted? I'm trying to file an amended business return, have the DCN error, and at the very end it says I have no returns eligible for efiling. Do I need to mail in the amended copy?
The DCN is something automatically given. Can you edit the number. Try reducing it to 14 characters. If you cannot, then mailing is the only option.
where do we edit it?
We are getting the error message, but can't seem to find where to fix it.
Thanks for your help....

Why am I getting a message that my DCN has too many characters?
I ran into the same error and an unable to efile my texas state business return. TurboTax charged me 55 dollars for the state product and I cannot e-file. The state does not even accept paper returns.

Why am I getting a message that my DCN has too many characters?
It is quite disappointing that the developers said they are working on the problem over a month ago, but they STILL have not fixed the problem.
I have been waiting for a response to this issue. I have contacted TurboTax support multiple times.
The article that was previously linked from this message is no longer available as of this morning, 5/8/2022.
I can't find a newer or updated version when I search for the "DCN has too many characters" error either.
I did sign up for updates from that original TurboTax posted article. I have received no email updates on the matter.
I am unable to file my state taxes for Louisiana as a result of this error and according to the software, Louisiana requires e-file.
I am very disappointed in TurboTax if they have now put their head in the sand and are ignoring this issue.
