Spliting Income

I have always declared all the income from my childcare business under my name but my wife has worked with me since the beginning. How should I split the income so she can have the same income as me 50/50?

A sole proprietorship cannot be split ... you could put her on the payroll and issue her a W-2.   Or pay her as a subcontractor and issue her a 1099-misc.   Or you can incorporate or open up a partnership return.   Seek local professional guidance to make the right decision for you both and follows the state laws.
