In box 14 I entered the STRS (state teachers retirement system) but it does not seem to have a category so I chose other. Is this correct or is there a better category?

No.  Employers can put just about anything in box 14; it's a catch-all for items that don't have their own dedicated box on the W-2.  In your case, the STRS entry is just an informational memo.  "Other - Not on above list" is the correct option.
