I found out that if you have a NOL from rentals (Schedule E), the NOL is entered as an "other miscellaneous expense" in the Expense Review for the rental.
I am married filing jointly. The NOL carryforward is just for my wife's income. How can I do that?

You can't. If you file jointly then everything on the tax return is joint - including an NOL carryforward.
In order to separate the NOL you would have to file married filing separately.
