Washington state does not have a personal income tax. Leave boxes 15, 16 and 17 blank on the W-2
I have info in box 16 from my employer.
Turbo tax wont let me proceed. Says needs info in those boxes.
Yes, your W2 has box 16 information identifying your employer's state identification number. They filed the W2 with the IRS and the state. Those 3 are in communication. You do not need to put anything in those boxes since WA has no tax, leave the entire bottom blank.
It feels weird to not input something on your W2. It is not information for you or your return. It is between the governments and they know it.
If you don't have any withholding in box 17 then leave all 3 boxes 15, 16 & 17 Blank.
Thank you very much for the response! Unfortunately, every time I try to leave those boxes blank, TurboTax is not happy. It keeps telling me that I need to review this information. It will not let me proceed. I fear the developers have an issue that I unfortunately will not get to see the fixing of. 🙂
