Hello. A few years ago I was starting a non-profit and received a Tax ID number. Other things came up in my life and I never really got the non profit up and going. I am hoping to do that in 2020. However, I noticed that my TaxID number is suspended because the taxes weren't filed by November 15th deadline. I didn't know that I needed to file when I hadn't used the number yet. I am having a hard time figuring out which short form the IRS needs me to fill out to reinstate my Tax ID number. I am looking to find someone who can do this for me and how much it will cost.

You might want to check the link below for a list of enrolled agents (EAs) in your area. Ensure that the agent has experience in matters involving tax-exempt organizations.
The link below provides an (IRS) outline of the form required for a particular organization.

You were supposed to file a return EVERY year since you got that number EVEN if you have nothing to report ... seek local council to see what your best course of action is at this late date to avoid all the penalties that may have stacked up.
