My husband and I started an LLC in 2016. We did no business with the LLC, had no income or expenses. Do we still need to file a 1065 form?

If you had no income and no expenses, you do not have a filing requirement. You do not need to file a form 1065.

Who Must File:

Domestic Partnerships
Except as provided below, every domestic partnership must file Form 1065, unless it neither receives income nor incurs any expenditures treated as deductions or credits for federal income tax purposes.Entities formed as LLCs that are classified as partnerships for federal income tax purposes have the same filing requirements as domestic partnerships.

If you and your spouse are the only members of the LLC, you can be considered a "single member LLC". This would mean that any income and expense items would be reported on Schedule C in your personal tax return and you would not need to file a form 1065.
