My birthday information sayes it don't match the Irs information

A rejection will occur when the date of birth or Social Security number for the primary taxpayer (the first person listed on the return) is either incorrect or doesn't match what's on file with the IRS.

The IRS gets all taxpayer entity information from the Social Security Administration.

Try This First (Recommended)

Get your Social Security card and then follow these steps to make sure your information was entered correctly:

  1. Open your return in TurboTax, and then click Personal Info.
  2. Continue to the Your Personal Info Summary screen.
  3. Next to the first listed taxpayer, click Edit.
  4. Make sure the first taxpayer's Social Security Number exactly matches the information on the Social Security card, and that the Birth Date is correct and entered in MM/DD/YYYY format (not the European DD/MM/YYYY format).
    • If the information is wrong, correct it.
  5. Continue until you're back at the Your Personal Info Summary screen.
    • If you made any corrections, click Done With Personal Info at the bottom, and then e-file your return again.
    • Otherwise, if you verified that the info you entered is correct, proceed to Other Options, below.
Other Options

If you verified that the information you entered into TurboTax exactly matches the Social Security card, and that the birth date is correct and has been entered in MM/DD/YYYY format, your next step is to call the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213 to verify that the SSA's records are correct. (The IRS gets their information from the SSA.) Correct SSA records will prevent the same rejection next year.

In the meantime, your best option is to file a paper return, as your return will continue to get rejected until the mismatch is fixed at the SSA, which can take at 4–6 weeks or even longer.

This is the same problem my husband and I are having. The birthday matches the SS card, but not the IRS records. Does the SSA charge for correcting documents?

No I just updated it today

FYI- just got off the phone with the SSA after waiting an hour. They told me the only wait to correct this is to visit your local SSA with identification (DL/ Birth cert/Passport) and they can make the correction there. I was instructed to FILE BY MAIL to allow more time for these changes could be reflected

Daniel is right. Don't waste your time on the phone with SSA. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes, got absolutely zero help, and no one could tell me how my birth date would have changed in the SSA records between one year and the next. Massive waste of time. Just go to the SSA office in person with your identification. I'll be going there soon to waste more time for something that's not my fault.

Update: went to SSA and had to change my birthdate (which I still have no idea why it was changed) and my returns were still rejected. Called the IRS and they had my birthday correctly. This tells me that is a Software issue. Knowing this I spent another hour on the ohonw with turbo tax and they had no idea again how to help. Not sure this will ever be fixed in their system. IRS told me that turbo tax needs to update the original profile they received from irs (which is outdated) but turbo tax support has no idea of this process. I’m told if I mail in it will bypasss this bs but it’s in my opinion defeats part of the purpose of using turbo tax. Good luck

Make sure you go to SSA to fix your birthdate though, then just mail your paperwork in, bypass irs call and TT call.

Yes I have been trying to fix my stuff so I can get my back taxes but it tells me that my birthday don't match my social security

@Stacieleighmartin The IRS gets its information regarding your date of birth from the Social Security Administration.   If there has been an error and SS or the IRS has the wrong information, you have to sort it out with Social Security.   Social Security will correct the information it gave the IRS.
