I have a commercial rental property in a partnership. Can i report this as income/loss on 1065 or does it have to be on form 8825?

A partnership needs to file a Form 1065 tax return.  These were due back on March 15th.   

The Form 8825 will be part of the 1065 partnership return.  

The 1065 partnership return will issue K-1 forms for each partner to include their share of the partnership income/expenses on their own personal returns.

since its a commercial property does it matters if reported on 8825 or as income directly on the 1065 form?

You want to use the 8825 so that the income transfers to Line 2 of the K-1, rather than Line 1 of the K-1
