Unfortunately, since the extension time has passed, you are not able to file an extension. There are two small things that might help: (1) If the IRS rejects the extension, you have 48 hours to correct it so you are able to put down the correct tax form, or, (2) That when you file the return, the IRS has accepted your extension even though it was not for that tax type and will not penalize you for not having an extension.
The extension deadline hasnt passed for me, but proseries won’t allow me to file the second extension (S Corp ext) since it has the same ID as the first. Anyway to get around this in proseries and file the s Corp extension?
Yes, you can always print the form and fill it out, keep a copy, mail in the original through the post office so you will get a return receipt received notification when it is delivered to them.
One way to file Form 7004 is by downloading and printing the form from the IRS website, filling it out according to the IRS instructions, and mailing it to the address given on page 4 of the instructions.
If you're using TurboTax Business to prepare your return, you can also print a 7004 through the program:
Form 7004 is able to be used by most business entities.
