To enter a capital loss carryover on Wisconsin Schedule WD in TurboTax:

  1. Check last year's WI schedule on WD
  2. Short-Term Capital Loss Carryover: Enter the amount from line 34 of last year's Wisconsin Schedule WD on line 7 of this year's Schedule WD
  3. Long-Term Capital Loss Carryover: Enter the amount from line 39 of last year's Wisconsin Schedule WD on line 16 of this year's Schedule WD

You can enter the transactions in TurboTax using the links and steps below:

  1. Open or continue your return - Be sure you are logged in.
  2. Navigate to the capital loss carryover section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to capital loss carryover.
    • TurboTax Desktop: Search for capital loss carryover, and then select the Jump to link.
  3. Select Yes on the screen Did you have investment losses you couldn't claim last year?
