How can I change change the business code and work industry in my self-employment section?

There is no "Edit" button under the "business code" or "work industry" items, so I don't know how to change these entries. TurboTax changed the business code to the generic "999999" and I don't see how to override this.

I have not been able to duplicate your problem of the no edit button showing for the business code.  In TurboTax Online Home and Business under the business information section, I show the edit directly under the Tax Details Business Code.  In the TurboTax Desktop version, I show the edit button to the right of the Business Code number.  I was able to access and edit the business code in both instances.  If you subscribe to Live! versions of TurboTax you can call in and someone can assist you with live assistance and in most cases be able to view your screen(s) to see if there is an item preventing you from editing the code.

I have the same problem.  However, my code is not 99999.  I can't change it either.

When you review your business entries, you will see a screen that says Your (name of business) Business, and you need to choose the Update option on that screen.

On the next screen you will see an option to update the business code:

Put a business code in, then try to change it. The program runs you in a circle with you not being able to edit it even on schedule C.

In TurboTax for Desktop, you can change your business activity code in two ways.

Step-by-Step:

1. Go to Schedule C summary page.
2. Edit Business Profile (Home & Business version; otherwise, continue).
3. Continue to the page "Let's look up your business code."
4. Click Lookup or type in a number.

Forms Mode:

1. Click the Forms icon in the TurboTax header.
2. Open Schedule C for your business.
3. On Line A, click the QuickZoom button to lookup an activity code or type a number in the box.
